The budding engineers of Year 5 and Year 6 had the opportunity to help build a 17 metre suspension bridge at school today. As part of the Institute of Civil Engineers - Bridge to Schools Project, we had 5 STEM ambassadors come along to help us.
John Lewis, Clive Bristowe, Greg Meredith, Matthew Parekh (a former pupil of Northop Hall CP who now is doing his post graduate training at Airbus) and our very own Sarah Dale (a parent in school) worked to set the first part of the bridge up, ably assisted by our Chair of Governors, Michael Hughes. Then it was time for our young engineers to build the second half and check it was safe by walking across it.
