Croeso - Welcome to Reception
🌈
Reception at the beach!
we went on an aeroplane to somewhere hot and visited the beach. We had ice lollies, donkey rides, boat trips and went in the sea!
Reception and Nursery Sports Afternoon
This afternoon we had our sports races. We all looked super sporty and tried our best in the races. We had Sprint, Bean bag on bat, bean bag on head and the obstacle races. Everyone was well behaved and we all had fun.
We hope you enjoy watching our race videos.
This week we have been painting planter pots with a partner, planting broad beans and lots of different wild flowers.
This week in Reception we have been exploring 3D shapes, we escaped the web in the forest. We have been making our own spider animations on Purple Mash and we have been making our own versions of the spider story.
In the past few weeks we have been making number lines in Numeracy, making hapus 😀 and trist ☹️ faces for Welsh and our new topic is Spiders! 🕷🕸
A rainy forest school afternoon.
This week in forest school it was rainy and muddy, we enjoyed going in the muddy puddles in our wellies.
We also made some spider webs in small groups. It’s very tricky being a spider weaving round and round. (I’m sorry Reception but I don’t have everyone’s web photos but you all did a great job 🕷🕸).
Fun in the forest
This week in the forest we made maps of the area like the ones the robbers had in What the Ladybird Heard. We worked with a partner and shared our finished maps with everyone.
We had great fun this afternoon in our PE lesson with Steve. We played 3 games:
we played a frog hopping game.
We can’t wait until next week.
World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day in Reception and read the Julia Donaldson ‘Tales from Acorn Wood’ books. We did a scavenger book hunt and drew who we would like to share a story with.
Dathlu Dydd Gwŷl Dewi - Celebrating St David’s Day
We had fun celebrating St David’s Day in Reception, learning about St David, listening to Welsh music and making flags and daffodils.

Blended Learning week commencing 4th January 2020
Dear parents and carers,
Please find below an overview for the week as well as activity sheets to go along with the activities. There is also a 'Happy New Year' video saying hello to the children and showing parents how to find the White Rose Maths activities for this week.
On the overview plan any activities in red have resources which can be found on the website page for Reception. Activities in purple can be found as 2Dos on Purple Mash - (some of these may be released daily). For this week I will add activities daily but this may change in the coming weeks. I will be available online every afternoon this week if you require any support.
Stay safe
Mrs Griffith
