Hi Mrs Mitchell
I wanted to send you some photos of our duck experience.
We incubated duck eggs and after 28 days 3 ducklings hatched! We watched them hatch out the eggs it was amazing. We love our ducks they're called cookie, birdy dave and mr Tony floofster.
They are a week old now and tomorrow we are taking them to our friends house who has a pond and they're going to live there and we will get to visit and have photo updates as they grow up! We will miss them so much

Good Morning Reception Children & Parents
We hope you have been able to enjoy the sunshine over the weekend and are safe and well. We have some activities for the children to complete this week. As we have said previously, these activities are optional, and you are very welcome to follow your child’s interests and do other activities. We look forward to hearing what you have been doing.
Our topic in the Spring term was Farm Animals. We have looked at some farm animals and we would like to continue with this topic.
Main Activity: Can you find out about ducks and rabbits?
Where do they live? What do they eat? What are their babies called?
You can draw and label the features of a duck and rabbit.
You can write describing sentences about ducks and rabbits. For example, The rabbit has got two long, fluffy ears. The duck has got webbed feet.
Creative: Can you make a home for a rabbit?
You can pretend any cuddly toy is a rabbit to build a home for. You can use sticks, twigs, leaves and grass outside. Or you can use blocks, lego, duplo or junk boxes.
Can you make a toilet-tube rabbit or duck? (There are lots of ideas on Google)
MD: Can you sing the song “5 little ducks went swimming one day?”
You can use a bowl of water, paddling pool or bath to make a pond.
Can you find 5 objects which float and pretend the objects are ducks as you sing the song?
Reading: Can you read and share a book about ducks, rabbits or any other farm animals?
You can watch and listen to the story “Come on, Daisy” by Jane Simmons on YouTube.
Physical: Can you jump like a rabbit? How many jumps can you do in 1 minute?
Can you waddle like a duck and flap your wings?
How many other farm animal movements can you do?
Please try to encourage your child to read everyday and to continue to practise their sounds and letter and number formations.
We will continue to add some 2Do’s on Purple Mash and we can communicate with you and your child through 2Email on Purple Mash.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Good Morning Reception 24.4.2020
It's another lovely sunny morning. I'm hoping you are all able to play outside or go for a walk today. Mrs Ahmad, Mrs Clayfield and I have been very busy thinking of ideas to keep you busy next week. We have also heard what some of you have been up to through 2Email on Purple Mash. I love that some of you have decided on your own topics to learn about which include Princesses and Dinosaurs! Please keep sharing your ideas and I can pass them on to the whole class. I am still learning how to use Purple Mash and I know that some things haven't worked. I'll keep trying to add 2Do's for you to complete if you want to.
Please check this page on Monday for some activities which you may wish to have a go at next week.
Our main aim is for you to stay safe and have fun whilst you're at home.
I hope you enjoy the weekend.
Lots of Love

Sport Relief
13th March 2020
Today we all came dressed in our sports clothes and participated in lots of sporty activities to help raise money towards sports relief!
World Book Day!
We have all had a wonderful day celebrating again for world book day. The children all came dressed as their favourite book characters and they all looked fantastic! Each classroom had someone reading a story and the children all chose which book they wanted to listen to, which they all really enjoyed. They designed and coloured in their own bookmarks to take home and drew some amazing self portraits of themselves all dressed up!
Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus! Happy St. David’s Day!
Another busy day celebrating for the children. We have learnt all about Wales and why we celebrate St. David’s Day. We have made daffodil head bands, welsh dragon flags, built castles with the building blocks, used pastels to make beautiful welsh pictures and we have even planted our very own daffodils! We also performed our welsh song during the special St. David’s Day assembly which we did brilliantly. We finished the afternoon with a special treat, some lovely welsh Bara Brith and listened to the story about Gelert the dog!
Pancake Day! Diwrnod Crempog!
The children have all had a fantastic day celebrating pancake day. They set up their own “Pancake Cafe” and enjoyed laying the tables, serving their friends, and washing up their own dishes! There were lots of other activities going on in the classroom such as, pancake tossing with beanbags and rackets, pancake posters to make and colour in, and some super craft pancakes were made too! It was a pancake packed fun filled day!
