Orchard Planting Project - 23.11.16
What a fantastic day we all had today. It was non-stop from the start of the day, when Mike Dilger, wildlife presenter from The One Show, lead our school assembly, to the afternoon when all the children in the school were involved in pressing apples to make fresh juice to toast our newly planted orchard. In between Year 6 carried out a soil and worm study and then Year 5 and Year 4 helped to plant our trees.
Please enjoy the selection of pictures below to get a feel for our exciting day.
Roald Dahl Day – 13th September 2016
We all had a fantastic, fun-filled day celebrating Roald Dahl Day on Tuesday. A big thank you to parents for organising costumes and accessories for the children to wear. They all looked amazing as we started our day with a special assembly to mark the event and learn more about the wonderful Roald Dahl. All across the school the children were involved in engaging activities helping to promote their literacy and numeracy. Our feedback from the children about the day was extremely positive. Ronnie in Year 5 commented, “I just loved everything about Roald Dahl Day – especially when you got to see the costumes! I really loved the Willy Wonka chocolate bar challenge when you had to design and make new packaging for a chocolate bar. It was great fun.”
Take a look at some of the photos showing what the children have been doing.
