At the Park
During and following our visit to the park, we learnt about forces. Some Year 2 children came to our class and explained some of the different forces. We learnt about pushes, pulls, gravity and friction. We also wrote a recount of our visit to the park.

Spring Term 1 - On our doorstep
In our class assemblies we discussed the importance of saying ‘Thank you.’ We made ‘Thank you’ cards for the three kind ladies who had given up their time to answer our questions. Minister Jonathan invited all of Foundation Phase to an assembly in the Chapel. The children enjoyed singing and listening to the organ!
Spring Term 1 - On our doorstep
We went back to the Presbyterian Church (Chapel) and were met by three ladies who were able to answer our ‘I wonder ...’ questions. The children were extremely polite and really enjoyed ‘finding-out’ about the Chapel. The ladies also treated the children to a drink and biscuit!

In our class assemblies we learnt about what worship is and where people worship. We arranged to visit the Presbyterian Church (Chapel). The children explored inside and asked lots and lots of questions! Back in school we organised our ‘I wonder ......’ questions.

We are very proud of all our KS 1 children who performed in our Christmas play.
Our last outdoor learning session / forest school for 2022 - We went on a star hunt, each star had a challenge. We completed each challenge and found a prize at the end.

Remembrance Day.
We are extremely proud of Year 1’s contributions to Remembrance Day. The class were thoroughly engaged in all of our discussions about the importance of this day and they asked lots of questions to help develop their understanding. They enjoyed producing poppies in a variety of ways and they learnt a poem which they recited at the War Memorial in the village.
