Lots of the Year 6 pupils took part in Cycling Training recently!
Madame Prior (our French penpals' teacher) sent over some apple juice and biscuits made using apples and butter from the Normandy region of France, which is where some of us will be visiting in March! Year 6 loved taste testing the drink and food and we are very thankful to Madame Prior for doing such a kind thing for us!
We have received letters from our French pen pals! It was so exciting to read them and see their responses to the letters that Year 6 wrote. We have now starting drafting our replies to send back over to them!
Year 6 started off the new year by taking part in an Adobe Express live lesson where they were taught lots of new ICT skills to make a digital New Years Resolution poster!
Autumn Term
What an incredible way to end the Autumn Term! We are proud to announce that our amazing school was the first school in Wales to receive the Nurturing Schools Award and we had a very special celebration assembly for this with some important guests
We are all super proud of the origami calendars that we created!
We enjoyed our last Christmas Dinner Day together
Year 6 worked with their Reception Buddies to make Christmas crackers out of recycled materials to have with their Christmas dinners

What do you think of our Christmas tree decorations? We used our sewing skills to create these festive elf hats and we are so proud of them!
Some members of the Year 6 class took part in a wheelchair rugby festival at Deesice Leisure Centre! The children found this to be a really useful way of learning more about inclusive sports linked to their Inquiry Project.
To co-inside with our Inquiry Project about Inclusivity Year 6 were lucky to take part in a morning of 'Inclusive Sports' where they learnt a variety of new sporting activities that are accessible for everyone!
We had a lesson on how to make our own digital portfolios and websites using Google Classroom on Hwb
Mrs Schuettler from Mold Alun came in to teach us another German lesson! We learnt all about how they celebrate Christmas and New Year in Germany
We had fun pretending to be Teachers and Headteachers for National Take Over Day!

In our Inquiry Project we created databases to show data from the Invictus Games
We worked with our Reception Buddies to help them understand the differences between larger/smaller and taller/shorter!
Mrs Mantache has been teaching us how to write in Japanese in our Expressive Arts sessions!
During this week's Reception Buddy time we played some really fun games together!
Mrs Schuettler from Mold Alun came in to teach us a German lesson! We learnt the greetings, how to ask and say names and the numbers up to 10

In this week's session with our Reception Buddies we had some outdoor play time and ended our time together by listening to one of our talented Year 6 pupils play the piano!
For the MacMillan Fundraising Event we designed and created all sorts of activities to share with our guests! We made paper chains and signs, decorated biscuits, made a bingo game, a Blooket quiz, a bookmark making station, the collection boxes and even created the background music!
We shared some story and information books with our Reception Buddies
500 Word 2023- Year 5 and 6 watched the BBC Live Lesson all about this year's competition and we even got a shout out! The closing date for the children to get their entries in is 10 November 2023. There is more information about this exciting opportunity in the links below...
For International Day of Languages we found out who our French pen pals are, watched their introduction videos and created our own videos to introduce ourselves in French! We then shared what we had been doing with the rest of the school in a special assembly
We have had our official 'Dragon Sports' Young Leader Training! We learnt some new games that we can show to the younger pupils...
We went for a windy walk with our Reception Buddies and showed them our classroom!
