Some great team work and skills at the netball & football festival held at Bryn Coch School today. In the football we made it to the semi final but unfortunately got knocked out by Sychdyn who went on to win the competition. In the netball we won two, lost two and drew one. The netball and football squads played brilliantly and had incredibly close games. All the children worked so well together and were a real credit representing the school. Well done everyone.
Huge thank you to everyone who supported our McMillan Coffee Afternoon on Monday. The pupils really got involved by baking, pouring drinks and sharing activities with parents in their classrooms. We are very grateful for all of the delicious cakes which you sent in. The School Council members will be counting the money very soon and we will be letting everyone know how much was raised. A fabulous afternoon for such an important cause.
Our Year 5 & 6 Reading Ambassadors helped to lead an assembly for Key Stage 2 to introduce our new exciting way to read and listen to a wider range of books! We visited Connah’s Quay library last week to explore books and create class library cards for the whole school. Emma and Natalie the Librarians were amazing in helping us find lots of books on our reading wish list. We have also introduced BorrowBox, via the digital library service, so we can read eBooks and listen to audiobooks too. There is lots of choice for everyone. We can’t wait to get reading!
Pupils enjoyed our Coronation Talent Show on Friday. We have such a lot of talent in our school, every act was amazing. We have also had some incredible work entered into our art/craft competitions. A big thank you to the School Council members who took on the role of the judges and the host for the talent show and helped with the organisation. The weather stayed dry for our street party...just about!!!! A big thank you to one of our Grandparents who made the balloon soldier, he was a great addition to our celebrations! Every pupil has been given a special commemorative coin to mark this important event. A fantastic day!
Royal Mail Staff and "Lenny The Letter" visited our school on Wednesday to collect letters which pupils have written to King Charles 3rd. Pupils enjoyed an interactive session where they found out about the journey of a letter. The pupils are hoping that The King enjoys reading their letters. We are very grateful to one of our parents who works for the Royal Mail who helped to organise this great event.
The school council celebrate with Mrs Harrison who was a finalist in the Headteacher of The Year Awards. This is an award for our whole school and to recognise the great work of Pupils, Staff, Governors and Parents. As you will see in the photographs even Jet our therapy wanted to be part of the celebration! Well done Northop Hall School!!!!
