Red Nose Day
Year Six came to talk to us about where some of the money we raised will go. We learnt a about Farhad and his family. We then shared our jokes with class. In the afternoon we decorated a biscuit and had a half an hour dance-a-thon!
The egg has hatched!!!
While we were out playing the egg hatched. We came back to class and there was golden paper everywhere. Luckily the I-pad was on and it filmed a baby blue dragon in class. We went on a dragon hunt and we think it has flown to meet its parents as we found lots of clues. We also found some golden paper in the forest school where we found the egg.
We had a visit today from Steve (Rockliffe Raptors) and his owls. He brought Ko'ko - a Barn Owl, Tally - a Tawny Owl, Zako - a Little Owl and Rocky - a European Eagle Owl.
We got to see the birds up close and Steve told us all about the different owls. Tally the tawny owl is the same owl as the mummy owl in our book Owl Babies. We asked Steve our questions about owls and he was able to answer them all.
Year One's visit to the village Post Office.
We wrote letters to our mums and dads. Next we put them in an envelope with our home address on it then and walked to the Post Office to buy stamps. We used our Welsh to say 'Ga i stamp os gwelwch yn dda?'. Finally we posted our letters in the post box. Hopefully they should get to our houses on Thursday or Friday. Everyone walked safely with their partners and used lovely manners in the Post Office. Well done Year One!
A visit from the Dogs Trust
Today we had a visit from the Dogs Trust. One of us pretended to be a dog and we found out how to look after a dog. This included taking it to the vet, giving it a bath, giving it the right food and drink and even picking up the poo! We also learnt how to be safe around dogs when we are out and about.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
