What a great day we have all had! Our journey consisted of sunshine mixed with torrential rain, but once we arrived at Nant it managed to stay dry (ish) for the rest of the day. Beds were made, with only one or two duvet cover challenges, kit was issued and then following a cooked lunch we all headed for our first activity. One group went out canoeing on Llyn Geirionydd. They worked brilliantly in teams to off load the boats and had to paddle hard to get around the lake in some windy conditions. We sang the Okey Cokey, which involved putting things in and out of the boat and some of us (including the teachers) ended up a little bit wet from some splashing games. Two groups headed off gorge walking down Geirionydd gorge, climbing over plank bridges, sliding down rocks into pools of water and just having lots of fun. After a cooked tea, we played a Hide and Seek game around the centre grounds which involved collecting items from the hiding teachers to score points. Some of the staff were very good at hiding .... Miss Bellis! We are now all very tired after all that fresh air today, are having some hot chocolate and stories before bedtime and looking forward to the new adventures that tomorrow will bring.
