Year 3 and 4 arrived at Pentre safely and we have had a jam packed first day! Filled with climbing, mountain biking and gorge walking. We had a special visit from Mrs Williams this evening and went on a brilliant night walk! We ended the day listening to some poems with a tasty hot chocolate. Looking forward to day 2 tomorrow!
On Thursday 24th February, a group of Year 6 pupils from the Hawarden cluster of schools, Hawarden Village Church School, Penarlag, Ewloe Green, Sandycroft and of course Northop Hall, came together to explore Vedic Maths with Mrs Williams.
Working in teams, the children explored the links between times tables, digital roots and the shape patterns created from them. They created networks, circle patterns and Vedic worms on squared and isometric paper.
All the children were a credit to their schools and we enjoyed hosting them at Northop Hall.
Last week, pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 were learning about the Slate industry of North Wales during a visit to the National Slate Museum in Llanberis.
In contrast, some of the pupils have visited Chester University to learn the skills of the more current and future technology of coding.

We are pleased to announce that we have been placed in National Categorisation group Yellow again this year. Within this, we have been moved into 'Improvement Capacity A' which includes schools who 'show the greatest capacity to improve along with the ability to support other schools.'
This is testament to the hard work by the Head teacher and the Staff throughout the school.
