Well done to everyone at Northop Hall CP School!
We are pleased to announce that this year (Jan 2017) we have been placed in the National Categorisation Green category for the first time.
Green means we are a highly effective school, that we have a track record in sustaining a high level of learner outcomes, we demonstrate resilience at all levels and are challenged to move towards or sustain excellence.
We are in Standards Group 1 which shows our standards of achievement over a three year average.
We remain in 'Improvement Capacity A' within this categorisation, which is awarded to schools which 'show the greatest capacity to improve, along with the ability to support other schools.'

A huge well done to all in our school community – let’s ensure we keep moving onward and upward together!!
As part of our whole school focus on developing Science this year, we will be holding a Science Day on Tuesday 31st January where we will all be scientists.
Throughout the day everyone in school will be involved in a wide range of science activities. Beginning with a ‘Big Question’ the children will have a chance to explore and investigate to find answers to their questions.
Also, Year 5 and Year 6 will be taking part in a Live Lesson as part of the BBC Terrific Science, having begun their Science work this week finding out about how we ‘taste’ things. This investigation will reveal how many of the children are tasters, non-tasters and supertasters … and what this means. They will be sharing their data as part of the national project and become ‘Citizen Scientists’.
Look out on the website for reports and photos of the Science Day activities after our Science Day.
Last Friday, Year 6 had a visit from Linda Thew, a local resident, former parent of the school and Community Councillor. She came to share her artefacts and stories of family members who served in both world wars.
Having the opportunity to handle real artefacts and hear personal stories really brought the history to life for Year 6.
Visit the Year 6 class pages to see photos and read more about the visit.
Today is the launch of 'Mrs Williams' Maths Challenge'. This weekly challenge will be set for pupils in KS2 and is for pupils to complete individually, with friends or with family. All the children in KS2 have been offered the opportunity to take part and we are pleased to say many have shown their Growth Mindset and taken up the challenge!
Check out the Maths Challenge page in the Children's section of the website for more details.
