What a fantastic day we all had today. It was non-stop, from the start of the day when Mike Dilger, wildlife presenter from The One Show, lead our school assembly, to the afternoon when all the children in the school were involved in pressing apples to make fresh juice to toast our newly planted orchard. In between Year 6 carried out a soil and worm study and then Year 5 and Year 4 helped to plant our trees.
We would like to thank Airbus and the North Wales Wildlife Trust for making this day possible, Mike Dilger, who was involved in all the day's activities and all of our children who were a credit to the school on this busy day.
There is a selection of photos below and more in the Gallery in the Children's section of the website.
Just a quick reminder that all the children need to bring an apple to school to put in an apple press when we all make juice during the afternoon tomorrow.
The children in Year 4, 5 and 6 will need their outdoor clothes as listed in the letter sent home on Monday.
There is likely to be a great deal of press interest and the possibility of TV cameras with us at some point in the day.
The project will leave us with a legacy of fruit trees and help us continue to develop our outdoor environment.
Let's hope the weather is kind to us, but whatever it is like we're sure the children will have a great experience.
This week the football team travelled to Rhos Helyg for their match. The team had a good training session with our Associate Teacher from Chester University, Mr Woodward, and were well prepared for the match.
Northop Hall had most of the play throughout the match and were unlucky to lose 2-1, despite many chances and some very close goal line decisions.
Well played all.

What is a very busy day in school! Children in Need and Christmas clothes for PTA donations and National Takeover Day where the Year 6 pupils took over the school as Headteachers, Teachers and TAs.
The new 'staff' arrived early in school, dressed smartly, ready to set up their day. They had been preparing work during the week and having discussions with the class teachers to make sure everything was ready.
During the day, all of the Year 6 pupils have used incredible skills to organise the children, teach them and even mark their work during break times! Each group of teachers chose the Star of the Day and shared their experiences during assembly, which was prepared and lead by our two Headteachers for the day.
The Headteachers also helped the PTA, wrote 'Thank You' letters, prepared their assembly and checked the children were doing their work and behaving well for their 'new' teachers.
What a fantastic day!
See some more pictures on the Year 6 Class page.
Thank you to all those families who have been donating prizes for our tombola stalls at the Christmas Fair in recent weeks. The children have begun the festive spirit today, dressed in Christmas jumpers or Christmas colours in return for a tombola donation.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kind donations towards Children in Need today, we have raised £70.55. The children have been busy colouring, drawing and painting Pudsey, counting Pudsey and writing about Pudsey, amongst many other things. The morning's work was planned and lead by the Year 6 Teachers for National Takeover Day. (See later news)
The Yr 5 & 6 athletic's team came a very close 2nd with just one point between the winners Wood Memorial and Northop Hall. The team were fantastic and every single member gave 110%!!! Very very proud of you all in your effort, skills and most of all how you coped with coming so close to going through to the North Wales Final. You are all winners in my opinion after today's performance! See sports section for photographs.
