Keep up to date with all the latest news in school and on the website.
We will be holding an Open Class event on Wednesday 13th July from 3.30 - 5.00pm. This is an opportunity for your child to share their work with you and for you to meet your child's new teacher in an informal way, if you wish.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
It's our annual Pensioners' Tea event next week, where we invite grandparents (or great grandparents) and more senior members of our local community to come to school for an afternoon of tea, cakes and entertainment.
There will be two events, one on Thursday 7th July and a repeat on Friday 8th July. There is no need to book this year, although we would like to point out that this event is not for Parents as we do have limited space for the event.
Although there is no charge for this event, we will be running a raffle to help raise some funds for the school and your support for this would be greatly appreciated.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Next Wednesday 6th July is our end of term disco, therefore there will be no Football club next week.
The Foundation Phase Disco is from 4.00-5.15pm and KS2 Disco from 5.15-6.30pm. It will cost £3.00, including a Hot Dog and some sweets to take home. Payment will be on the door and there is no need for any further money to be brought along.
We look forward to seeing as many children as possible at this end of term event.
Sports Day is going ahead!
We have had a very difficult decision to make today with the rain showers coming and going all morning. I have been watching the weather forecast on the BBC, Metcheck and Accuweather, some of which say the rain may continue on and off all afternoon, others that we expect sun as the afternoon approaches.
Should we have any torrential rain meanwhile, that leaves the field too wet and any stormy weather this afternoon, we will have to make a quick decision to postpone or bring the children back in to school.
Fingers crossed all will be well!
With such a mixed forecast for today we have decided we will make a decision about Sports Day at 11am.
We have to consider both the actual weather and field conditions underfoot, for the safety of the children, but we want to take every opportunity for the event to go ahead. We are watching the forecast closely as we know that thunderstorms have been forecast and will take this into account also.
Please check back here for news later rather than ringing the school.
Thank you for your understanding.
We are all keeping our fingers crossed that Sports Day will be going ahead on Friday 24th June, although the weather forecast is not looking too great.
We will make a decision as early in the day as we can and post this in the Noticeboard section on the Website Homepage. Our decision will be based on both field conditions (too slippery from previous rain perhaps) and the actual current weather. It is always a difficult decision to make, but we want Sports Day to go ahead as much as the children and families do!
Thinking positively, we are due to begin at 12.45pm and we would like all of the children to come to school in the morning dressed ready to take part. They will need to have a sunhat/cap with them and sunscreen applied in the morning. We also ask that children have sunscreen with them, labelled in a bag, should they need to re apply this themselves. We are not allowed to do this for them. They also need to bring a drink bottle (water only please).
To ensure the event runs smoothly and safely, we asked that you use the centre of the track to watch, please keep at least a metre from the track edge and please take care when crossing the track.
We respectfully request that you do not cross the track to your children during the event to pass on refreshments etc as this can cause disruption, both in the classes and of the races. Thank you for your support in this matter.
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Friday, but in the event of postponement, the same arrangements will apply on Tuesday 28th June 2016.
We would all like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Kent on the birth of their new baby daughter Ebony Frances.
Mum and baby are doing well and we look forward them visiting us in school soon.
Check out the Year 5/6 class pages to see the Ancient Olympics practical challenges the children have been tackling this week.
Working in mixed age teams, they have been completing a range of problem solving tasks, many outdoors.
They are having great fun and using a variety of team working skills to be successful.
Please remember to bring in your entries for the children's competition for the Family Fun Evening on Friday. This year we have two competitions, the eggsellent Olympic Hard Boiled egg and a Carnival Style mask or head piece. To make an entry children need to pay 50p. Have a look at the PTA
page for a photograph of an eggsellent egg we have received so far!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
