We had a great journey to Pentrellyncymer this morning and arrived safely, the sun was shining but it didn't last for long. That didn't dampen our spirits though!
This afternoon we split off into our activity groups with one group heading to the lake for a canoeing session and the other testing out their climbing skills at the indoor wall.
We've had so much fun already and we can't wait to head out for a night walk shortly. Waterproofs and wellies at the ready!
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Pentre meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
I will just put a few of the key points below:

The budding engineers of Year 5 and Year 6 had the opportunity to help build a 17 metre suspension bridge at school today. As part of the Institute of Civil Engineers - Bridge to Schools Project, we had 5 STEM ambassadors come along to help us.
John Lewis, Clive Bristowe, Greg Meredith, Matthew Parekh (a former pupil of Northop Hall CP who now is doing his post graduate training at Airbus) and our very own Sarah Dale (a parent in school) worked to set the first part of the bridge up, ably assisted by our Chair of Governors, Michael Hughes. Then it was time for our young engineers to build the second half and check it was safe by walking across it.

All of the children have enjoyed another action packed day today!
We started the day with a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs and copious amounts of cereal! The children made their own sandwiches for today's lunch (some interesting choices of fillings from the children!) it was great to see them supporting each other with this task.
Then the children split off into their groups for today's activities. We switched around to ensure that all children got to experience the gorge, canoeing and the high ropes course.
Once again the children have done us proud with their 'can do' attitudes and their willingness to try everything. Lots of children feel already that they have accomplished things that they never thought they could do and have overcome lots of challenges both physically and mentally.
Tonight we have enjoyed fish, chips and peas and also celebrated a special 10th birthday, happy birthday AM!
The children will end the day with a treasure hunt, visit to the shop and time in the games room all before bed!
We have arrived safely to Nant BH and already we have faced and overcome lots of challenges from making our beds to gorge walking!
The children have settled into their dorms really well and worked well in their activity groups this afternoon.
Group 1 explored the adventure climbing area, group 2 went canoeing on the lake and group 3 tackled the gorge. Already we are very proud of the resilience and team work that the children are showing.
The children have just enjoyed bolognese pasta with garlic bread and are headed off on a night walk, armed with torches and waterproofs!
I hope that you enjoy the photos of this afternoons adventures! More to follow tomorrow night.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
