Thank you to everybody who attended the meeting about our up and coming trip to Pentrellyncymer.
As promised I have put the Presentation on to our website and you will be able to find it on the 'Sports and Activities' and Year 4 pages.
Please be sure to pop in if you have any further questions!
We are very proud to announce that we have again been successful in our renewal of our Platinum Status as an Eco School.
As one of the first schools in Wales to be awarded an Eco Flag back in 1995, we have continued to promote the Eco Schools ethos across the school. We were then amongst the first, small group of schools to be awarded Platinum status in 2001 for our continual work towards Eco Schools.
Our joint project work with work with Chester Zoo Wildlife Connections project was a significant part of last year's plan and it is great to see we are continuing this work with the Zoo's Safari Rangers this year too.
The school was turned red for Red Nose Day on Friday 24th March. Choosing to wear red clothes, red noses, red faces and red hair for many resulted in donations of almost £150 for Comic Relief.
We had a fun filled day, with a range of different activities in each classroom.
Thank you all for your donations and support with turning the school RED!
What a fantastic time the children had today!
The whole of Key Stage 2 took part in an engaging 'Interactive Roman Workshop', where they were able to really immerse themselves in the Topic that they have been studying this Term. The pupils all seemed to really enjoy the experience.
Mr Cope (who ran the Workshop) commented on just how keen, polite, independent and helpful your children were. We are very proud of them all!
As a school we find that the children learn so much from these types of events, which can only be provided for them with the generous contributions from Parents and Carers. So once again, thank you!
Be sure to keep an eye on the Gallery and Class Pages for upcoming photographs of the day...
On Thursday 16th March a team of Year 6 Hockey players went to the area Hockey Festival.
The children represented the school brilliantly, working together as a team, encouraging each other and learning and improving their skills and team play from game to game. They worked hard to get through to the Final which they unfortunately lost in the final few minutes, conceding only their second goal of the whole tournament.
With their fantastic attitude, both on and off the pitch, we were extremely proud of them all.

The school was completely taken over with characters from a range of books on World Book Day. Our day started out with a 'readaround'. This involved the children visiting a different class to hear a story from a different teacher. Favourite authors such as Allan Ahlberg were included, with Funnybones and Burglar Bill being popular choices.
During the day the children worked on book related activities such as drawing, making, writing, painting, collecting data and had a chance to take time to enjoy their books.
At the end of the day we all came together to share and celebrate our costumes and work from the day.
A great celebration of the wonderful world of books!
We celebrated St David's Day throughout the school on March 1st. All the classes prepared a contribution to the St David's Day assembly, where Year 1 and Year 4 parents were invited. In front of this audience, and other invited guests from the school Governors, the children sang, danced and re-enacted events, using their Welsh language skills very confidently. Mrs Harrison and Mrs Griffith lead the service bilingually and we finished off with a patriotic rendition of the National Anthem.
Arddechog!
