Keep up to date with all the latest news in school and on the website.
Today has been National Takeover Day, which is when the Year 6 pupils 'take over' the School and become Headteachers, Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
Today has been a challenging day so far for all the Year 6s but it has been a really good experience. It is brilliant fun to see how a teacher works and how much they have to do. We have been asking some of the children how the are feeling about Takeover Day.
'It's been really good fun having the Year 6 teaching us.'
We have both enjoyed being Headteachers because we have prepared certificates, interviewed teachers and children to see how the day went and updated news on the website.
More news about the day will appear on the Year 6 Class pages.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Governors have produced their Annual Report to Parents which is now available to read in the Parent/Governor Information section on the website. The report outlines the schools’ progress over the last school year
The governing body would also like to present the report in person to parents. We will be doing this on Thursday 7th December 2017 at 5.30p.m. The meeting will only go ahead if at least 5% of parents declare they will attend. Please return the slip accompanying this report if you do wish to join us on the 7th December 2017 and/or if you would like a paper copy of the report sent home.
Any questions which you would like the Governing Body to answer at the meeting must be written and returned to the school addressed, to the Chair Of Governors. Please can replies and any questions be returned to school by Thursday 23rd November 2017.
Kind regards,
Mrs Marlene Mason
Chair of Governors
On Friday 10th November, Year 6 took part in a Remembrance Service at St Mary's Church and after at the newly renovated Northop Hall War Memorial. The pupils read their own poetry in the church and, once at the memorial, called out the names of the 'fallen' who are listed on the memorial before the two minutes silence.
Viv Williams, co-founder of the Flintshire War Memorials website www.flintshirewarmemorials.com, who also contributed to the service, said what a credit our pupils were to the school with their thoughtful and moving poetry.
Thank you to Reverend Richard Hainsworth, other members of the Church community and to the parents, grandparents and others village residents who attended the service.
More photos and the children's poetry can be found on the Year 6 class page.
Well done Year 6. We are proud of you!
