Are you up for a challenge?
Look out this week for the launch of 'Mrs Williams' Maths Challenge'. This weekly challenge will be set for pupils in KS2 and is for pupils to complete individually, with friends or with family.
Check out the Maths Challenge page in the Children's section of the website for more details.
At 9.15 this morning, the children in KS2 joined many people all over Wales in observing a minutes silence to remember the tragic events that took place at Aberfan 50 years ago.
Each class learned a little about the tragedy at a level suitable for their age and they were all very respectful at all times. We thought about all the families who were impacted by this event and gave thanks that lessons were learned to prevent such an event happening again.
Year 5 and Year 6 have had a fantastic day creating outdoor environmental art with local Artist Tim Pugh. Tim spent the morning with Year 6 and the afternoon working with Year 5. Our young artists used their imaginations to create pattern-related artwork, using natural materials in our Forest School area.
You can check out Tim's work at his website

Look on the individual class pages for further pictures of our day.
Thank you to all of you who attended our Reading meetings in Foundation Phase and KS2 over the last 2 weeks. Reading is a key aspect of your child's development and your support is such an important part of that.
There are a selection of resources in the Parents/Curriculum/Reading section of the website that may be useful for you when working with your child and please do speak to your child's teacher if you have any further questions.
Just to confirm that the only year groups who will be receiving the nasal spray vaccine for flu on Monday 17th October are children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3. The nasal spray vaccine will only be given if we have received parental consent. If you have not yet returned your consent form please do so by Friday 14th October.
The nurse has asked parents to ensure that any child who suffers from asthma has their inhaler in school on Monday in preparation for the vaccinations.
We hope the letter which we sent out did not confuse too many people. The letter was sent to everyone so that we could remind parents that any child who requires an inhaler should have it in school at all times.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the nasal spray vaccinations please do not hesitate to contact us.
A reminder to Yr 6 parents that the deadline for secondary school applications is Friday 4th November. You can access the application through the Flintshire County Council website.
